Job Description

Head of Growth MarketingOperant is seeking a Head of Growth Marketing who will take our marketing programs to the next level across marketplaces, digital ads (including SEM/SEO, LinkedIn, Display, and remarketing), website optimization, and other demand gen channels with a keen eye on reaching the right target customers with the right message at the right time with an impeccable funnel that keeps them engaged from initial contact through conversion. The ideal candidate is a savvy expert in both traditional ad technology and emerging channels, with the ability to strategically optimize spend and performance across a multi-channel program in which each touchpoint is measured and prioritized against channel and company performance goals. The Head of Growth Marketing should be a hands-on do-er who collaborates well with brand marketing, product marketing, and sales, and should feel comfortable combining their knowledge of demand gen best practices and ad tech with an ever-growing knowledge of the cybersecurity competitive landscape and our position in it. The ideal candidate should demonstrate an extensive track record of orchestrating successful growth marketing campaigns in the context of enterprise SaaS B2B (and ideally cybersecurity) in which customer experience, lifecycle management, and relevancy of traffic are just as important as lead volume.Who We Are:We’re in business to secure the modern world. Having already been named as a vendor in Gartner’s market guide for API Protection and Kubernetes Runtime Security as well as Forrester’s Zero Trust landscape all in the first half of 2024, the sky is the limit for leading this growing market.Responsibilities:Own growth marketing channels including digital ads (including SEM/SEO, LinkedIn, Display, and remarketing), marketplaces, website/funnel optimization, and collaborative initiatives with brand and product marketing, reporting directly to the CMO.Build out the road maps and OKRs/Metrics for channels balancing priorities across impact, speed, quality and ROI.Work with relevant vendors and agencies to execute large and growing programs to achieve revenue and ROI goals.Roll up sleeves and directly manage channels in the platform interfaces.Create content and optimize messaging, customizing based on best practices for specific platforms, categories, and conversion goals while remaining true to the core product messaging, competitive positioning, and technical accuracy.Monitor and report performance across all standard measures including lead quality and quantity and ROI. Use metrics to drive optimization of spend and programs over time.Basic Qualifications:8+ years of experience with growing responsibility in related roles with a strong track record of success across key channels.Deep hands-on knowledge of SEO principles, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Remarketing, and self-managed Google Display ads, with the ability to manage channels directly and at scale- from keyword creation to bid optimization to ad creation- without relying on a 3rd party agency.Exceptional prowess with Google Ads Editor and using spreadsheets to optimize ad segmentation at scale.Deep knowledge of conversion tracking, A/B testing and a proven track record of using multiple tracking tools to create a full picture of customer journeys with useful context for sales handovers using tools like GA, Clearbit, HotJar, Hubspot, and Apollo.Experience using tools like Canva to create visual assets that can be used across appropriate platforms without depending on a visual designer.Experience with managing profiles and sponsorships on marketplaces like AWS and collaborating with partner support teams to ensure success.Knowledge of Webflow is a plus. Experience working with web design agencies to optimize and update website content, conversion flow, and SEO to make digital initiatives succeed.Comfort with and passion for relationship building across stakeholders, customers and vendors.Familiarity with marketing in an enterprise SaaS B2B and/or cybersecurity context.Awareness of the cybersecurity competitive landscape and ability to understand and articulate the brand narrative of Operant, including the nuanced differences between Operant and its competitors in a way that will engage customers in the short-form context required for digital marketing success.Impeccable written and spoken communication skills.Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.Open, curious and receptive to new ideas and ways of doing things.Willing to mentor new members of the team as the company grows.Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities, communications or similar with demonstrated comfort with technical topics either through coursework, extension classes or prior work experience.Work Hours & Location:Operant is a remote-first company and welcomes qualified applicants from across the US and Canada.This position will require you to be available during core PST business hours (9am-5pm) and to adjust schedules occasionally based on customer and business needs including business travel, client meeting/call schedules, and team off-sites.What you can expect from us:Operant is an equal opportunity workplace where you will find an open and supportive environment to share your thoughts and ideas, while enabling you to springboard your career in a high-growth, high-energy startup.Benefits:Medical, dental and vision insurance.Life insurance.401k.Paid holidays.Generous PTO.Stock options.
