We have high aspirations for the future and securing the best and the brightest for our stores and support centers is a critical element to achieving our goals.How You'll Make an ImpactAs a director, you’ll partner with your Global Communications colleagues, business leaders, and key stakeholders across the company to develop and execute the company’s top corporate communications platform and campaigns. You will:Drive excellence in media relations for the business, building strategic relationships with top-tier reporters, editors, and producers and managing proactive stories and reactive issues for the company.Be responsible for developing and executing integrated communications plans- from beginning to end and driving positive perceptions of the company’s growth and corporate reputation.You will lead:

feature storytelling for the company’s business and corporate reputation with top-tier media relationships.corporate reputation campaigns designed with fully integrated comms strategies (earned, owned, social, and paid).

Create strategy and oversight for the company’s external and proactive news agenda in coordination with partners across the team.Build and equip spokespeople with briefing materials and media training.Grow the team’s capability in media relations, developing partners through our mission and values.Advance our company culture through listening, inclusion, transparency, empathy, and actionHow That Comes to LifeListening and engaging with speed and curiosity to define clear goals and outcomes.Crafting proactive narratives to articulate financial and corporate strategies, and preparing reactive situations with key stakeholders.Daily engagement for effective top-tier media relations and earned media coverage.Empowering and encouraging a small, but impactful team of partners to help build and effectively execute communications plans in service of our corporate communications campaigns.Forming strong, collaborative relationships with key leaders and support partners across the company to inform, develop, and implement communications strategies that support our top external communications priorities.Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of media and investor landscape as it relates to the brand and competitor set.Apply forward thinking and research skills to shape communications that are most relevant for key stakeholder groups.Embodying Starbucks values and ensuring they're reflected in all of our communicationsWhat You’ll Need:A passion for servant leadership.Proven top-tier media relations skills.Critical thinking capabilities to navigate proactive and reactive issues.A natural disposition to work with urgency in a fast-paced environment in which every day is unlike the last.Schedule flexibility and availability for critical after-hours assignments, notably inbound media inquiries.Proven ability to establish trusted relationships at all levels of the organizationStellar written and verbal communication skills – particularly the ability to decode corporate speak and write clear and persuasive “human” content that engages a wide range of stakeholders. (Please submit various writing samples with your application.)Desire to take initiative in leading projects and presenting new perspectives.A solid grasp of narrative, awareness of audiences, exceptional attention to detail, and a forward-thinking team player who works collaboratively.Demonstrated people management experience.Summary of ExperienceCorporate communications leadership, preferably seasoned in external communications at a multi-unit retailer and/or an agency (10+ years)Developing, leading, and managing teams (5+ years)Demonstrated ability to apply general business knowledge and experience in a complex, fast-paced global environmentDemonstrated ability to develop and lead the execution of effective communication programs (internal and external) across the enterpriseEffective budget and strong presentation skillsAbility to interact effectively and confidently with senior management and all levels of the organizationAbility to collaborate effectively with colleagues, agencies, and partners across the organizationAbility to work in a team and influence othersAs a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits.
