Job Summary The Department of Student Media in the College of Communication, Architecture and the Arts (CARTA) is currently seeking a PantherNOW Student Sports Director to join their team of professionals. Duties to include the following:Responsible for sports coverage at FIU in PantherNOW, The Roar, and PantherNOW.comEnsure sports content is up to date in PantherNOW.comManage coverage of sports with live broadcasts over The Roar.Coordinate and assign a minimum of three Biscayne Bay related sports stories a week.Hire two assistant sports directors and all sports writersAssign and edit sports storiesManage sports department.

Minimum Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skillsStory-telling skillsKnowledgeable in InDesignManagement and team leadership skillsAP Style writingHave knowledge of campus sports.

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.

Work Schedule 10 - 15 hours, Hours may vary

Advertised Salary $11.00 per hour
