Technical Designer (Mid-Level)
will need to possess excellent team skills, and basic garment fit and construction knowledge. Whoever fills this position will be responsible for supporting the entire Product Development Department. The person who fills this position also needs to have a passion for the work they do, and a strong desire to learn and grow.

As a Technical Designer, You Would Be Responsible For
Post design sheets onto FTP site and notify vendors for costingCreate and update technical packets in PLM ensuring that all details are commercially viable with the factories and are the most cost effectiveReview samples and/or paper patterns from contractors for design accuracy and integrityCommunicate fit comments to overseas and domestic vendors in a timely mannerExecute design and fit intent into bulk production while maintaining quality and cost standardsLead fit sessions and take initiative as the fit expert of a specific product category or brandEnsure size and fit consistency within the brand and across product categoriesEnsure deadlines are metTrack and manage workflow and workload for own productsEnsure availability of fit models.Build and maintain fit base libraries including sketches and finished garment measurementsCollaborate with product development and design teams on creation of style: from initial specifications and construction detail to fit intent. Foster open communication and team environment with all business partnersIdentify and proactively engage business partners when issues arise with recommendations for viable options/solutionsMaintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables you to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or universityAt least 3 years related experience and/or trainingProficient in use of Illustrator requiredWorking knowledge of PhotoshopStrong knowledge in patternmaking including grading, construction, and fitAbility to analyze quality and maintain standards with contractorsAbility to produce computer-generated technical sketchesAbility to multi-task: Use the combination of organization, time management, scheduling and preparation to get multiple tasks completed by the established deadlinesSelf-motivated with a strong sense of urgency; strong sense of time awarenessThorough attention to detail and organizational skillsTechnical knowledge of fabrics, finishes, trims, and techniquesExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsCreative approach to problem-solvingTeam-oriented, proactive attitude
