Job Summary The Department of Art and Art History is currently seeking Academy Student Assistants to join their team of professionals.Duties to include:Serves as first point-of-contact for the Academy of Portrait and Figurative Art.Schedules appointments for portfolio interviews and Academy visits for graduate and undergraduate students.Assists in exhibition related assignments.Provides administrative support for the supervisor, Director of the Academy of Portrait and Figurative Art, and students, including scanning letters, memos, student records, calendar management, data entry, and handling student drop-ins.Performs other related duties as required or directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Desired Qualifications
Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.Customer service knowledge.Ability to work in a team setting.Basic level of Microsoft Word.None to basic Microsoft Excel.Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
Who May Apply
Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.
Advertised Salary $12.00/Hour
