practice helps owners, developers, and public agencies worldwide achieve security objectives while upholding each project’s aesthetic, functional, and budgetary goals. A recognized leader in security services – with more than 65 years of experience – we collaborate with clients and project teams to develop physical, technical, and operational security solutions for facilities of every type, use, and size.We have an opportunity for a Project Director to join our Protective Design & Security team. Candidates for this position should have a background in architecture and security to drive innovative security strategies in collaboration with our diverse team of security professionals. You will work to keep people safe from security threats in the built environment. Our team includes people from a variety of architectural, engineering, law enforcement, and other security backgrounds who work together on a wide range of project types including education facilities, office buildings, transit infrastructure, and sports facilities. You’ll join a team that is always learning and adapting as we perform risk assessments and advise clients on improving the safety and security of their facilities.Responsibilities:Collaborate alongside our experienced team of security professionals.Learn to provide security/protective design consulting services for new and existing construction. Security topics include, but are not limited to, physical security, security technology, and operational security.Facilitate Project Management through:

Proactive and direct client engagement.Maintaining project schedules.Maintain internal team project workplans.Communicate security planning strategies with clients through security zone and security access diagrams.Collaborate with our team to perform risk assessments of existing or proposed facilities using industry-standard threat, vulnerability, and risk assessment (TVRA) methods.Implement crowd safety strategies based on best practices and various modeling approaches. Create drawings, sketches, markups, and renderings to convey recommendations to clients.Draft reports and memorandums to communicate risk assessments, security requirements/recommendations, and other technical design information.Coordinate security requirements and design information with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.

Take an active role in the development of internal visualization tools.Manage and mentor other design team members.Participate in regular internal technical-development and knowledge-sharing meetings.Requirements:Background in Architecture with experience coordinating security aspects of projects.Undergraduate degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Project Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, or other building design disciplines.Experience in project management.Proficient in one or several of the following software tools: MS Word, PowerPoint, Revit, Rhino, Bluebeam.SCIF design experience is desirable but not required.The position requires the candidate to gain and hold US Security clearance.Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.Benefits:Depending on your employment status, benefits may include:Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, Disability, and other voluntary benefits.Flexible Spending Accounts for Medical & Childcare.Paid Time Off, Family Leave for New Parents, Volunteer Time.Tuition Reimbursement.Commuter Transit (where available).401k retirement savings with Company matching on employee contributions and/or qualified student loan repayments.Fitness Reimbursement.And other various wellness, diversity/inclusion, and employee resource programs and initiatives.
