Player 15 Group is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Vice President of Broadcast Operations to lead all facets of the Suns, Mercury and Valley Suns broadcast operations.

What You Will Do

The Vice President of Broadcast Operations will lead all facets of broadcast production - radio, over-the-air broadcast strategies and original programming, including on streaming platforms - for the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) and Valley Suns (G League).

Reporting to the SVP of Communications and Broadcast, the VP of Broadcast Operations will lead the proactive and strategic development and execution of content delivery across various platforms, including live game, studio/pre-post, and original content broadcast productions. The VP will serve as the primary contact for all external production technology, partners and vendors, as well as internal partners ensuring seamless communication, messaging and alignment.

The position requires a deep understanding of live and non-live game broadcast production, studio (pre-half-post) programming and production, technologies, transmission, and distribution across linear and streaming platforms, with fluid understanding of the evolving media landscape, specifically over-the-air.

What We Need From Our Vice President Of Broadcast

Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for game and studio broadcast, and production operations including editorial oversight, content creation, scheduling and distribution across all platforms.Lead the implementation of innovative broadcast technologies that support league operations.Serve as the primary point of contact for production technology partners and vendors negotiating contracts and ensuring the delivery of high-quality telecast and services.Implement standard processes to optimize broadcast workflows, performance reporting, and procedures.Lead efforts to expand broadcasting initiatives across multiple platforms, including broadcast and digital channels.Lead the implementation of innovative broadcast technologies and develop broadcast style guide.Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal teams to ensure seamless communication in alignment with organizational goals and projects. Collaborate with league and team marketing, social media and PR enhancing resources and optimizing content for broadcast integration.Work closely with internal teams to drive revenue, develop monetization opportunities and achieve partner results across game broadcasts.Develop and lead operating budgets for all broadcasts, linear and streaming.Lead broadcast talent as needed across all broadcast partners.Innovate and identify new revenue streams through broadcast enhancements and executions, including live and original programming.Support producers and announcers in determining storylines for pre/half/postgame shows and game broadcasts; provide mentorship, feedback and leadership to announcers and production team members.Build and maintain production and announcer schedules for Suns, Mercury and Valley Suns game broadcasts, and studio programming.Coordinate broadcast team travel through Team Travel Logistics & Experience ManagerCoordinate and execute live streams (Suns Media Day, open practice, press conferences, etc.) for social and streaming platforms.Lead broadcast team in a positive environment of open communication that focuses on telling the stories of the Suns, Mercury, Valley Suns and arena, including players, coaches, executives.Build and maintain broadcast music library.Ensure consistent support for all visiting NBA, WNBA and G League broadcast and national broadcast crews.Maintain contracts with broadcast vendors and partners (production facilities, studios, graphics, audio, broadcast crewing).Ensure accurate management of content storage, archive and distribution.Other duties as assigned.

Competencies

Consistent record of negotiating contracts with production technology vendors and handling budgets.Strong understanding of evolving broadcast industry, including over-the-air, regional sports networks, streaming platforms, and content supply chain managementDeep knowledge of broadcast technologies and industry trends, with the ability to drive innovation and adapt to changing technologies.NBA/WNBA/G League knowledge experience preferred but not requiredExperience in developing and implementing broadcast workflows; live truck production experience a plus.Strategic problem solver with the ability to align broadcasting/production initiatives with business goals.Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with the ability to collaborate and influence partners internally and externally.Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and strong initiative to drive continuous improvement.Ability to work in high pressure, deadline-oriented live television environment.

Experience/ Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required5-10 years live sports television production as a director and/or producerExperience leading others requiredDetail on Safety and/or Security Sensitivity – Team member will be around players, coaches and basketball staff enough to need to be cleared as one who can handle critical information appropriatelyValid passport required for international travel
