Mechanical Designer

Job DescriptionAssist Engineering department with product definitions and specifications.Participate in mechanical product design including development of product specification, material selection, CAD design, and detailed product drawings.Create and modify 2D and 3D drawing layouts in Autodesk Inventor for use by Engineering department.Create detail drawings of piece parts.Document designs for product support and efficient development of successive product generations.Generates BOMs for new jobs and/or sub-assemblies using Sage Master Builder software.Interface effectively when required with customers and vendors to ensure design success.Interface with other company departments to ensure effective communications of new product development and continuing engineering activities.Recommend design changes that would create or improve products/processes.Assist in creation of technical manuals.Verify accuracy of designer drawings, support fellow designers and engineers and act as technical point of contact.Assist in troubleshooting design problems.Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.Job Requirements3+ years of machine and equipment design.Proficient in Inventor and AutoCAD software.Must have ability to interpret specifications, recommend design improvements, and execute process improvements.Ability to pay close attention to detail & perform daily job duties accurately.Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, organizational, training, and PC skills are required.Must work effectively under pressure, be highly motivated, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.Proficient in design and disciplined as far as practicing drafting standards.
