We are seeking a

Senior Layout Designer

to provide tailored solutions across all phases of high-temperature metallurgical projects in ferrous and non-ferrous commodities and contribute to the leadership of the mechanical engineering department for North America. The preferred location for this position is

Scottsdale, AZ

(near Phoenix, AZ), though other US locations may be considered.

How will you contribute to the team?Develop 3D models and layout arrangements for new Greenfield and Brownfield projects, ensuring accurate representation and adherence to project requirements.Preparation of drawings in accordance with project standards.Collaborate with the Process Group to create comprehensive process flow diagrams that align with project objectives.Create design sketches to support the development and visualization of project concepts.Establish layout design criteria to guide the team in producing effective and efficient designs.Generate sketches for trade-off studies, enabling informed decision-making and optimization of design solutions.Conduct thorough reviews of vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.Collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team to contribute to technically complex solutions, maintaining departmental and client standards, and coordinating with other disciplines to ensure timely and accurate design information flow.As required, participate in site visits and assist in field measurements and inspections.Providing mentorship to other team members by any means possible, including overseeing groups of designers working on projects, and providing technical guidance and supervision for high-temperature mechanical equipment.

What will you contribute?Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent technical discipline plus ten years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficient in industry-standard software: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant3D, SmartPlant3D, MicroStation Select, SolidWorks.Ability to read, understand, and produce accurate layout drawings, ensuring precise implementation of design specifications.Strong prioritization and time management skills, effectively managing tasks and meeting project deadlines.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, facilitating innovative design solutions. Also possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
