Senior Project Designer - Higher Education - (SRPD-3.24TX) Hoefer Welker is looking to add a highly creative Design Architect in our Dallas office. The Design Architect will be responsible for translating project requirements and programming into a clear design concept, as a leader with the Education project design team from concept throughout construction. The role involves designing and delivering successful building projects through a proactive delivery process, whether with in-house staff or outside team members, and according to office standards and processes.

Conduct architectural studies, develop design concepts and design criteria, prepare reports, calculations, and detailed design.Support, direct, and mentor staff within a team-building atmosphere.Actively collaborate with the design director and coordinate the services of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure project deliverables are integrated and support the design concept and performance goals of the project.Focus on client satisfaction and create opportunities for additional future project-related services.Seek creative and innovative solutions, understand constructability for assigned tasks, and develop appropriate research and documentation to support these solutions.Maintain awareness of the scope, schedule, budget, and status of all assigned projects and assist in the development of probable cost.Develop and maintain client confidence in our staff and operations by maintaining a high level of professionalism, accountability, and performance.Participate in the presentation of plans and documents to governing and permitting authorities for land use, zoning, and permit approvals.Job Requirements Minimum of 4 or 5 year Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program required. 15+ years of experience on Higher Education projects.Certification/Registration

Architectural registration preferred. LEED Green Associate Accreditation desired. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use insured personal vehicle for employment purposes.Qualifications Candidate must be proficient in Sketchup and Revit, with excellent hand sketching skills. Knowledge of computational design is a plus. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere, and meet deadlines. Strong verbal communication skills and ability to perform in client presentations are essential. Experience with large scale and/or international projects is a plus.Leadership, decision making, delegation, and mentoring skills.Ability to provide high quality, responsive design solutions and documentation for construction in a variety of styles with a proven ability to provide exceptional client service.Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and personally driven to consistently meet project design and performance goals.Ability to work independently as well as with various disciplines and types of people, committed to being an effective, contributing team player.Extensive knowledge of building materials and exterior finishes and experience with building façade technology is a plus.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail-oriented and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
