is looking to add an experienced

Architectural Specifications Writer

to our team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with expertise in architectural specifications and a passion for ensuring projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You'll prepare specifications for projects in a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, and more.

What You'll Do

Develop comprehensive project manuals and specifications across multiple sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and more.

Stay abreast of building codes, industry standards, technological advancements, and construction processes.

Manage and update the firm's master specifications library.

Collaborate closely with project teams to align specifications with design intent and project requirements.

Review and edit specifications prepared by in-house architects and consultants to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm standards.

Provide guidance and support to project teams on specification-related matters.

Maintain the firm's materials library and liaise with product representatives.

Provide training to staff on specification production, coordination, and interpretation.

Your Qualifications

More than 8 years of professional architecture experience.

Five or more years of experience in preparing project manuals and specifications.

CSI Certified Construction Specifier and/or California Architect license preferred.

Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Architecture or equivalent.

Proficient in common building types, materials, products, systems, and technical detailing.

Familiarity with AIA contract documents and coordination required between varying contract types and specifications.

Working knowledge of sustainable products and materials.

Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and technical software such as MasterSpec and CAD/REVIT.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected pay range for this role is $81,500-120,000 annual salary (must be willing to work in-office 50% of each week). Actual pay will be determined based on Architecture license, experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
