Senior Telecommunications Specialist
for a new opening in Washington, DC! The ideal candidate will have expertise in supporting the design, installation, and maintenance of a complex network-centric land mobile radio communications system. The system consists of Motorola Core VHF LMR equipment interfaced into the customer-controlled network allowing WAVE audio distribution to multiple end users. Experience in geographically diverse RF and data networks is desired. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.Duties:Provide daily technical support to on-site personnelProvide systems engineering support to end-usersOccasional installation support of network and RF equipmentDocument each engineering subsystem down to signal flow and traffic typeSkills:Experience with network equipment, Cisco, Juniper, HPE, and DellIP Networking ExperienceExperience in Diagnosing, Repairing, Programming, and Installing RF EquipmentPossesses Complex Understanding of Two-Way Radio Theory and RF Propagation Characteristics at Various Frequency BandsFamiliar With RF Design and EngineeringProficient Operating RF Test Equipment (Communications Service Monitors, Wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, Multimeters)Experience with installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of VHF/UHF Digital two-way radio systems.Knowledge of Motorola equipment and software preferred but not requiredUnderstanding of Radio over IP (RoIP) systems desiredAbility to document existing data and network infrastructureAbility to interact and communicate with high level government clients as a mustProficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)Clearance required:
