Washington Monthly Magazine ranks FIU among the top 20 public universities contributing to the public good.Job Summary The CARTA Dean's Office in the College of Communication, Architecture, and the Arts (CARTA) is currently seeking a Social Media Intern Student Assistant to join their team of professionals.Duties include:Create new content for the CARTA Office of the Dean (bios, headshots, flyers, social assets etc.)Promote the dean and college initiatives through social media engagementAssist in the design of slide decks/presentationsResearch and maintain database of content and internal materials such as agendas, PR, etc.Remain current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to PR influencer marketing and social media.General administrative assistanceOther tasks as required to support the goals of the CARTA Office of the DeanMinimum Qualifications * At least 3 semesters of FIU work experience or related experience outside the University with satisfactory or higher from prior student appointment.* Requires a letter of recommendation from one prior supervisor.* Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.* Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software programs, such as PantherSoft and Salesforce.Job Category Student AssistantStudent Disclosure Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.Work Schedule 20 hours weeklyAdvertised Salary $13.50/hourPre-Employment Requirements Criminal Background CheckThis student appointment may be subjected to a pre-employment background check.How To Apply Current EmployeeAs a current employee, you must log into Employee Self Service (ESS) to apply for this and any other internal career opportunity of interest.
