Content Developer - REMOTE at Jacobs in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Your Impact: We train like we fight If you want to be part of a dynamic Team developing engaging and hands-on training solutions, this is the place for you Jacobs is currently seeking an additional Future Operator Readiness, Growth & Enrichment (FORGE 101) technical Content Developer. FORGE 101 is an unclassified, self-paced, online course that trains individuals on skills and methodologies associated with an offensive or defensive cyber operator work role. The course covers four topic areas: Windows, UNIX, Networking, and Security Concepts. The course is not instructor-led, rather it uses Facilitators to guide students through the content while encouraging students to be active self-learners throughout the course. FORGE 101 Content Developers are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in at least one of the four topic areas including Microsoft Windows workstation and server operating systems, Linux/Unix workstation and server operating systems, general networking concepts, or mission-related security concepts. FORGE 101 Content Developers work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary Team to develop technical, engaging, hands-on training solutions. Virtualization technology is employed heavily to simulate real-world scenarios that create an immersive learning environment for the students. This position can be fully remote Responsibilities: - Work collaboratively with Instructors, Facilitators, Instructional Designers (ISD), Multimedia Designers, Testing Specialists, Programmers, Infrastructure Support, and other team members to conduct content development tasking. - Work with multi-disciplinary team members to develop and/or update Terminal Learning Objectives (TLOs) and Enabling Learning Objectives (ELOs) as well as participate in the mapping of course materials and exam items to the Learning Objectives. - Work actively and collaboratively with other multidisciplinary Team Members to develop and/or update rough draft outlines for course materials; review and provide feedback on design deliverables, as appropriate, including Design Plan Document (DPD), Detailed Content Outlines (DCOs), etc. - Work actively and collaboratively with other multidisciplinary Team Members in identifying the appropriate training delivery method for the subject matter, audience, available resources, schedule, and other customer-driven requirements. - Work actively and collaboratively with Instructional Designers to establish the order in which students shall complete learning objectives and course materials - Provide draft content input to the Instructional Designers for storyboards, flow diagrams, instructor materials, student materials, and other training related deliverables to assist in designing and developing complex, technically accurate, and instructionally sound learning solutions using a variety of delivery methods. - Research, develop, and refine content to be applied in interactive eLearning solutions of a technical nature. - Work actively and collaboratively with other multidisciplinary Team Members in identifying and/or developing content for rough draft course materials (storyboards, hands-on exercises, corresponding graphical ideas and videos to accompany the technical content, knowledge-based and practical exams, etc.) to develop fully fleshed out course materials. - Utilize virtualization technology to simulate real-world scenarios that create an immersive learning environment for students including designing and implementing Virtual Machine (VM) networks from which the students will be working for the hands-on portions of the course. - Create scenarios and cumulative virtual practical exercise environments that mimic a real-world experience and provide learners an opportunity to demonstrate concepts presented in the course. - Work collaboratively with Testing Specialists to design and produce formative and summative assessments (exam questions, case studies, etc.) to gauge the learners' mastery of key concepts presented in learning materials; participate in Exam Cut Score Workshops to determine the appropriate passing scores. - Observes and participates in existing courses and provides recommendations for course improvements; actively engages with instructors and course support team members to design, develop, and implement course improvements. - Actively engage with the Testing Team to review and take action based on Exam Item Analysis indicators and results to implement changes and improvements for course materials and testing. - Work actively and collaboratively with other multidisciplinary Team Members to conduct and ensure accurate mapping of course Learning Objectives to Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) and/or Job Qualification Standard (JQS) requirements, as appropriate. - Use a variety of technologies, techniques, and tools to execute the specific roles and responsibilities of the position including, but not limited to, Virtual Machines (VM), XML, Networking, Windows, Unix, Security Concepts, HTML, scripting, Perl, Python, etc. Here's What You'll Need: Content Developer must be able to successfully demonstrate the following capabilities: - Gather raw content appropriate for inclusion in the relevant courses. - Review storyboards to ensure content is reflected appropriately - Function a Subject Mater Expert on mission/technical topics considered for inclusion in the courses. Answer questions from Instructional Designers and Graphic Artist on a course content and the specific goals the content is expected to fulfill Minimum Education: Level 1: - Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the content area(s) of the training to be developed/maintained. Certifications in areas relevant to the training content is desired, but not required Level 2: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the content area(s) of the training to be developed/maintained. (Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a directly relevant or related degree.) Minimum Years of Experience: Level 1: - Minimum of four (4) years of experience of the training to be developed and maintained. AND - Experience shall be in at least One of the following areas: -Mission-related operational duties -Development of related training -Instruction of related training -Mentoring/technical leadership in related content areas. Level 2: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the content area(s) of the training to be developed/maintained. OR - Additional three (3) years of experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree requirement for a total of nine (9) years of experience. AND - The candidate should be considered an industry or Government-recognized expert in subject matter relevant to the training. Government and/or commercial certifications may be used to demonstrate subject matter expertise. - Experience shall be in at least Two of the following areas: -Mission-related operational duties -Development of related training -Instruction of related training -Mentoring/technical leadership in related content areas.
