System Design & Integration SpecialistCompany:The Boeing CompanyJob ID:00000437793Date Posted:2024-09-06Location:USA - Herndon, VAJob Description Qualifications:Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space Mission System Division seeks a System Design & Integration Lead on our team in Herndon, Virginia.  We work with proprietary customers in the development of next-generation technologies in space.  Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.  We work all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.You will support a proprietary program in the Northern Virginia (NOVA) area.  This program is dynamic and exciting, providing the opportunity to work within and learn a broad range of engineering disciplines.  You will focus on translating customer needs into detailed requirements for system integrated design.  This is a high level, high stakes position where erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect the organization's technological capability and image.Position Responsibilities:Apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts.  Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts as well as advanced practices, techniques, and standards.Provide innovative and ingenious solutions to highly complex technical challenges.  Pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results through consultation and agreement with others rather than formal review by a superior.Develop advanced technical ideas and guide their development into final product.Serve as division spokesperson on advanced projects and programs.  Update management and customers on advanced technical research studies.This position is fully onsite in Herndon, VA.This position requires an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)This position is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):10+ years of experience as a system administrator.2+ years of experience in System Design, Systems Engineering, Project Engineer, Integrated Product Team Lead, or Test and Evaluation Leadership.IAM Level 1 DoD 8140.01 (previously 8570.01) compliant certification (i.e. CAP, GSLC, Security+ CE, CISSP, CASP, CISM, GSLC).Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience supervising or managing an IT team.Experience in cloud architecture and cloud administration.Windows system administration and AWS experience.Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.  You must be within commuting distance or relocate at your own expense.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Shift Work:This position is for 1st shift but may require occasional compensated ad hoc support after hours should an emergency arise.At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage, and retain the top talent.  Elements of the Total Rewards package include competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.  The Boeing Company also provides eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.  The specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  Summary pay range:  154,700 – 209,300.Applications for this position will be accepted until September 12, 2024.Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems.
