The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of visual elements including layout, repeats, and color placement with the ability to manage their time in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.This role requires a strong work ethic, good time management skills, and communication skills.About this Role:The Rug CAD Designer will be working with the Holland & Sherry & Elizabeth Eakins rug design team to assist with creating and editing rug renderings, patterns and other various projects. The candidate should ideally have a passion for textile and rug design and the desire to learn more about working in the interior design industry. Communication is a major part of the job, so the candidate must feel confident enough to contribute to the entire creative process.* Oversee various design projects from concept to completion by creating renderings for production* Successfully design within the parameters of budget, production, design, and perceived product value* Collaborate with Design Manager and mills to determine best method of production* Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and sales representatives* Engage in continuous learning of product and process for team* Conduct quality checks* Guide team members to work closely with manufacturing on checking quality of samples and orders* Assist sales teams with creative direction and specifications for sample/sketch requests* Work closely with product managers and sales representatives to communicate design related issues that may disrupt manufacturing schedules·Any ad hoc projects as required·Good knowledge of AutoCAD is a plusRequirements:BFA in Surface Pattern Design, Textiles, Fibers & Fine Arts or a similar discipline or min. 3-5 years of design related experience in the fieldExpert in Photoshop and Illustrator, knowledge of AutoCADWriting skills and excellent follow up communicationMeticulous attention to detailTeam oriented attitude and strong work ethicAbility to take direction and adhere to deadlinesAbility to independently manage daily workflow and meet expected deadlinesAbility to thoroughly learn and understand product capabilities and limitationsTextile or Carpet experience preferredContinuing Abilities:Meet project deadlinesProficient at color matching and understanding matching tolerancesSuccessfully interpret new sample requestsAble to knowledgeably discuss color matching and color directionstrong time management skills are a mustWHAT WE OFFER:-A competitive salary-Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance-401k retirement savings program with employer matching contributions-Paid time off with at least 9 federal holidays observed throughout the calendar yearAn offer of employment will be contingent on the applicant successfully passing a background check.
