Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below.For the position of Senior Content and Assessment Analyst, UCLA Recreation seeks an experienced, detail-oriented individual with a proven track record in needs assessment, analytical research, and writing successful financial proposals and funding requests for a Student Affairs organization. Under supervision, the incumbent will work with the Director to prepare communications, design and deliver assessments, using assessment data to build reports and presentations, participating in funding proposal design and creation, and other special projects as strategic priorities evolve. The successful candidate will support the UCLA Recreation Executive and Communications team by conceiving, researching, writing, editing, and publishing written materials and strategic communications while evaluating the specific needs of each department within the organization. The types of content creation may include publications (internal and external), articles, press releases, op-eds, proposals, grants, promotional materials, talking points, FAQs, blogs, web copy, and social media posts, among others. The incumbent should have documented success in researching, positioning, writing, and securing grants and other funding requests for foundation, corporate, and university donors. Additionally, the incumbent synthesizes the results of department assessments, and the program evaluation cycle to produce reports summarizing the effectiveness and impact of Recreation and Student Affairs' services and programs.

QualificationsMinimum 2 years professional experience in a similar position with demonstrated success in writing and securing grants and other funding awards (Preferred).Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated professional experience with the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style, and punctuation. Expert research and fact verification skills. (Required)Demonstrated skills in writing clear, lively, engaging, and compelling copy in a variety of styles appropriate to target audiences and/or the broader public while ensuring adherence to the Student Affairs messaging. (Required)Advances interpersonal communication skills, including active listening and effective collaboration skills. Ability to effectively give and receive criticism. Ability to incorporate multiple, and at times conflicting, sources of edits and feedback. (Required)Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills. Able to provide good judgment and decision-making. Skill to maintain absolute confidentiality. (Required)Advanced time management, multitasking and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Problem recognition, avoidance and resolution skills. Ability to hold oneself accountable and demonstrate the ability to be self-directed and self-motivated. (Required)In-depth knowledge of creating and implementing comprehensive assessment programs. Demonstrated experience in the development of outcome measures for programs and services, including student learning outcomes. (Required)Advanced ability to present complex findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner verbally, and in writing. Demonstrated ability to effectively articulate and advocate for programs, policies, procedures, and the direction of the organization, using assessment (Required)Solid understanding of Recreational and Student Affairs programs and services, and a broad understanding of student development and learning process in higher education. (Required)Expert skill in synthesizing complex issues and presenting them in a creative and non-technical manner. Excellent analytical and rhetorical skills. (Required)Demonstrated expertise in researching, identifying and evaluating federal and private funding opportunities and requests for proposals. Ability to articulate and communicate University and Departmental vision, mission, values, and strategic plans. Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal AffiliationsBachelor's degree in journalism, English, communications, public relations, or related area or equivalent experience. (Required)Master’s degree or EDD in Student Affairs, education, or similar or equivalent experience (Preferred)
