Music Specialist Teacher2024 - 2025 School YearCompensation:

Hourly, $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, 1 day per week, 7:45 am to 3:30 pm (this position is not benefits eligible).Preferred Skills and Experience:Preferred Minimum - Bachelor’s DegreePreferred - Teacher Certification, however, this is not a requirement and individuals who are in progress toward a Master’s in Education/Teaching or Teacher Certification classes are welcome to apply.Alignment of professional duties and responsibilities to the belief that every student can learn the skills and dispositions necessary to have an opportunity to attend college.Inspire a spirit of welcome and service with everyone who encounters the school.Ensure respectful and appropriate communication of school policies with all community members.Maintain professional communication both verbally and in writing.Comfortable use of the internet and digital tools.Enjoy learning new things.Listen to others, act with patience, and seek excellence in all that we do.Serve as a positive and contributing community member.Ability to perform the job responsibilities of this position.Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children.Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities.Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull and carry children up to 50 lbs.Bilingual - Spanish or Vietnamese are the languages that would be most responsive to our community.The Specialist Teacher’s job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Collaborate with the school staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating the school’s goals and objectives, with a specific focus on faith formation and ensuring learning for all students.Participate in regional and Archdiocesan Catholic school initiatives.Maintain and complete attendance for each class.Establish and maintain a learning environment in which students thrive, guided by Gospel values, high expectations for all students, and a belief that all students can and will learn.Implement responsive instructional strategies, including ongoing formative assessment, culturally responsive pedagogy, and adjusting lesson plans and instruction in order to meet the needs of the students.Align classroom curriculum and instruction to school-wide systems, initiatives, and goals.Ensure confidentiality in accordance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).Develop and publish monthly parent communication.Respond to requests for parent communication within 48 hours.Implement research-based instructional strategies in order to ensure learning for all students.Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technology as it pertains to enhancing student learning and communication among the school staff and families.Participate in professional development opportunities that bolster both individual goals and school-wide goals.Be punctual, have consistent work attendance, start and end classes on time.Participate in the school’s PLC and attend professional development days.Serve as a model of Catholic faith for the students and represent the teachings of the Catholic Church.Submission of weekly lesson plans to the Principal.Maintain a routine process of monitoring student progress and communicate that progress to parents/guardians.Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Family Handbook, Faculty Handbook, and Staff Handbook.Serve this school in the position and in the specific duties assigned by the Principal.Conditions of Hiring:Pass background check in VIRTUS.Pope St. John XXIII STEM Academy inspires students to grow in a faith that is guided by Gospel values and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
