Then we have a great opportunity for you to join our growing team as a Technical Writer II in McLean, VA!As a Technical Writer II, you will:Join a leading company with over 40 years in the industry.Join a team of dedicated professionals who care about the quality of our product.Be a part of an empowered accountability culture where each employee-owner has a meaningful stake in the future success and growth of the company.Receive a robust benefits package that includes our Employee Stock Ownership Plan!This position is a 100% on-site role.Responsibilities:Work with the technical implementation teams to understand the product document requirements.Create and edit high-quality technical documentation for mobile applications, including software and system architecture, design, and product requirements.Assist in the creation and submission of documentation required for compliance with our Quality Management System.Assist in establishing and continuously improving the standardization and simplification of technical writing processes, procedures, and style guidelines.Contribute to documentation development lifecycle improvements.Convert legacy/previous formatting to latest formatting/style guidelines.Create documentation based on standardized templates.Analyze and edit content to maintain continuity of style and content.Assess the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended.Conduct document reviews and collect input from stakeholders.Create data flow diagrams, component diagrams, and similar technical illustrations.Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance (US citizenship required).At least 2 (two) years of experience in:Writing technical reports, analyzing technical literature, writing descriptive copy, and verifying documentation with appropriate sources.Ability to use various word-processing and desktop publishing software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, ADOBE CC, HTML, and XML.S1000D specification for the production of technical publications.Company Overview Founded in 1975, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States.
