Position Overview:

The Recruiting and Marketing Liaison is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract and enroll a diverse and talented student body. This role involves engaging with prospective students, fostering relationships with community organizations, and promoting the school’s programs through various marketing channels.

Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment plans for the Glassell School of Art to attract prospective students.

Work with the Deans of the Studio, Junior Schools and the Core Residency Program to identify and engage with potential students and Core fellows through various channels, including school visits, college fairs, online platforms and community events.

Build and maintain relationships with high schools, community organizations, and other relevant institutions to promote the school’s programs.

Actively maintain relationships with faculty and relevant community leaders to stay current on curriculum and trends.

Develop and execute a phone campaign encouraging enrollments for the upcoming semester.

Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and their families, providing information and guidance.

Coordinate the organization and setup of information tables at MFAH public festivals, ensuring all materials are prepared and displayed effectively to engage attendees

Marketing Initiatives:

Identify needed collateral to market the school to potential students; these could include, but are not limited to post cards, pamphlets, catalogs and signage.

Work with Glassell Marketing Manager and the MFAH Graphics and Publications Team to create compelling content for digital and print materials, including but not limited to brochures, social medial posts and email content.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, track application progress, and interpret data to measure effectiveness of recruitment efforts.

Analyze data from various local and national sources to benchmark institutional performance against competitor schools.

Identify key trends and insights from local and national competitors to enhance strategic positioning and academic offerings.

Monitor changes in the educational landscape to ensure the institution remains responsive and adaptive to market demands.

Events:

Collaborate on the organization of recruitment events, open houses, campus tours and other One Glassell or MFAH activities to attract potential students.

Facilitate in the production, realization, and marketing for One Glassell events.

Production of events may include creation and distribution of materials, including but not limited to brochures, hand-outs, and signage.

Actively promote relevant events to prospective students.

Social Media:

Work closely in conjunction with the Glassell School of Art Marketing Manager to promote recruitment and student outreach.

Assist in the development and maintenance of Glassell School social media accounts.

Develop creative content ideas for Glassell social media accounts, chronicling the culture of One Glassell including Junior School, Early College Program, Studio School, Core Residency Program and community engagement programs and initiatives.

Generate and maintain image and video resources for social media and other related graphic needs.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Ability to deliver engaging presentations and create persuasive marketing content.

Creative thinker with problem-solving abilities.

Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities.

Proactive in suggesting improvements and innovations based on competitive analysis.

Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Keen knowledge and engagement with social media platforms and web.

A genuine interest in promoting educational opportunities and supporting student success.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or graphic design preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable and demonstrable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Proficiency in social media platforms.

Strong organizational and computer proficiency (Adobe, Microsoft Office).

Previous experience in an educational setting; working with children and young adults preferred.

Working Conditions:

This position may require evening and weekend work to attend events and engage with prospective students.

Travel within the local community and surrounding areas may be required.

Must have TX driver’s license.
