We are seeking a Marine Piping Design Lead to be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and integration of piping systems for shipbuilding and repair projects. This role involves managing a team of piping designers and engineers to ensure that all piping systems are designed efficiently, meet project specifications, and comply with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marine piping design, strong leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of maritime regulations.

*Marine Piping Design Lead Responsibilities*

* Lead the design and development of piping systems, including fresh water, ballast, fuel, HVAC, and fire protection systems for new builds and repair projects.

* Oversee the creation of detailed piping layout drawings, isometric drawings, and material specifications to ensure accurate and effective design solutions.

* Collaborate closely with naval architects, structural engineers, and outfitting teams to integrate piping systems within the overall vessel design.

* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, including ABS, DNV, and U.S. Coast Guard requirements.

* Conduct design reviews, identify potential design issues, and provide innovative solutions to optimize system performance and cost-effectiveness.

* Manage a team of designers, providing leadership, guidance, and technical mentorship to ensure high-quality design outputs.

* Interface with clients, suppliers, and classification societies to review design requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure project alignment.

* Monitor project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all design activities are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with quality standards.

* Support the procurement team by providing detailed specifications and assisting in the selection of piping materials and components.

* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating new technologies, design methodologies, and industry best practices into the design process.

*Marine Piping Design Lead Position Requirements*

* 2 Years of Navisworks experience

* 5 Years of AutoCad experience

* 10 Years of experienced in Detailed Design in shipbuilding

* Related associates degree or additional 5 years of experience

* Knowledge of ABS and USCG Rules and regulations

* Must be very knowledgeable on piping connection details

* Ensure all details are based on Good Shipbuilding Practices

* Must be proficient at MS Office Applications, especially Excel, Outlook and Word
