Position OverviewGrant Writer

Remote - Located in Indiana$28,000 - 1 year contract, part-time 20 hours per weekApplication review will begin October 7thFoster Success is seeking a highly motivated and organized Grants Writer to assist in effectively writing and applying for grants. The Grants Writer will play a crucial role in applying for grants, including tracking financial and project administrative tasks, organizing and submitting project reporting, and ensuring organizational and funder compliance. The Grant Writer works with others, including program and finance colleagues, to ensure that staff have reviewed and contributed to proposals promptly.The Grant Consultant will work closely with the Executive and Senior Leadership Team and across the organization to help diversify funding opportunities.The Grant Consultant will report to the Chief Development & Communications Officer.Primary Responsibilities

Work with appropriate staff to research, write, and submit on average 2-3 grant proposals a month

Create and maintain a calendar of grant dates, funder contacts, and reporting requirements.

Write and research state and federal funding opportunities including WIOA funding opportunities.

Assume lead responsibility or supporting responsibility, as assigned, for grant reports.

Research, evaluate, and recommend new foundations, government, and corporate grant opportunities.

Coordinate meetings and site visits with current and prospective grantors. Prepare organizational leaders for these meetings and site visits.

Participate actively in team and all staff meetings.

Stay abreast of trends in development and content areas related to Foster Success’ work.

Position Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in grant and proposal writing and management

A successful track record in receiving and administering grants for organizations with diverse funders.

Deep knowledge of grant management, including compliance, accounting, budgeting, accounting, and reporting.

Familiarity with WIOA goals, regulations, and funding priorities in Indiana.

Effective communicator both to Foster Success staff and funders. Ability to listen to Foster Success and the organization's needs and able to translate them into successful grant submissions.

Commitment to supporting young adults between the ages of 14-25 from diverse backgrounds that have lived experience.

Proven creative problem-solving techniques, openness to change desire for continual feedback, and an ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving environment.

Ability to represent Foster Success with the utmost professionalism.

Demonstrated a commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging through professional work, writing, or volunteer experience.

Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills and experience with and knowledge of relevant software, particularly Salesforce, Zoom, Google, and Microsoft Products.
