Instructional Design and Planning Program Manager

is a key participant in a three-member Employee Services Unit team, responsible for developing and implementing a newly created departmental comprehensive training program intended to deliver engaging learning experiences. The mission of the Employee Services Unit is to promote staff professional and personal development to fulfill the department’s role as a critical enabler to deliver exceptional service for those living and working in our facilities.

This position is responsible for the inclusive and accessible design, development, and implementation/maintenance of training courses using multiple delivery methods, including instructor-led training (classes and webinars), self-paced web-based training, and other training and development support. The position will work closely with department leaders to identify individual unit training needs, evaluate training effectiveness, and modify training content or methods as needed.Education:Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Instructional Design, Human Resource Management or related field.

Experience:Minimum 5 years work experience in Instructional Design.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of performing analysis; designs and selects instructional materials aligned with identified needs in Instructional Design.Expertise in instructional technology/content authoring software such as Articulate, Storyline, Pressbooks, WordPress, etc.Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively convey technical information to staff with different levels of education and English fluency.Prior experience using a Learning Management System.Demonstrated experience working with a diverse workforce.Previous experience delivering and facilitating in-person training programs.Preferences:

Preferences:ATD Certification, SHRM Certification or HRCI Certification .Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google suite, Workday.Experience with the trades and facilities industries or call centers.Comfortable facilitating large and small group discussions, meetings and presentations.Knowledge of plain language/smart brevity techniques and formats.Bilingual preferences in speaking and writing are preferred.Additional Certifications:

Driver’s License with fewer than 6 points is required.Additional Information:

Salary Range:

$79,564-$99,455.Job RisksJob Risks Not Applicable to This PositionPhysical DemandsCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :This position requires an on-site presence. May be able to work remotely one day per week.As an exempt employee, the incumbent will be expected to work the hours needed to manage the duties of their position. Some evening and weekend work may be required.This position is an essential employee related to catastrophic, weather, or other emergencies and may be required to come to campus/work remotely when the University is closed.Position may be required to submit an annual Outside Professional Activities Report to the University.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Normal office environment to include keyboarding, drafting correspondence, planning/documentation and notes. Able to push, pull, lift, carry objects up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.Move and set up tables and chairs as part or room set up for training sessions.May be asked to assist with and/or support department-wide activities in the residence halls and other campus buildings which may require walking in and between buildings and climbing stairs.Posting Date:
