In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of over 100 design centers across the country, with a specific focus on serving single-family builders, flooring, cabinets, and countertops industries. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our design centers run efficiently, deliver exceptional customer service, and contribute to the overall success of our organization.Responsibilities:Operational Management:

Develop and implement standardized operational processes and procedures for all design centers to ensure consistency and efficiency.Monitor and assess the performance of each design center, including sales metrics, customer satisfaction, and operational KPIs.Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational effectiveness and customer experience.Collaborate with regional managers and design center staff to ensure adherence to operational guidelines and best practices.P&L Management and Gross Margin Focus:

Manage the financial performance of the design centers, including revenue, expenses, and gross margin.Develop and execute strategies to optimize gross margin, drive profitability, and achieve financial targets.Conduct regular financial analysis and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and revenue enhancement opportunities.Retail Model and Product Optimization:

Drive the implementation of a retail model within the design centers, ensuring effective visual merchandising, product displays, and customer engagement.Collaborate with the product development team to optimize the product assortment, pricing, and promotions based on market trends and customer feedback.Regularly review and update product offerings to meet customer preferences and drive sales.Sales Collaboration and Negotiation:

Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies for driving sales growth and expanding market share.Support sales initiatives through effective collaboration, communication, and negotiation with internal stakeholders, including sales, construction, and marketing teams.Ensure seamless coordination between design centers and sales channels to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.Lease Deal Negotiation and Site Identification:

Identify potential sites for new design centers, considering factors such as market demand, demographics, and competition.Negotiate lease deals and contractual agreements for design center locations, ensuring favorable terms and cost-effectiveness.Collaborate with real estate partners and legal teams to secure optimal locations and facilitate the design center setup process.Staff Management and Training:

Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate design center managers and staff.Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the design center teams, fostering a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement.Develop training programs and resources to enhance the product knowledge, selling skills, and operational efficiency of the design center staff.Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement development plans as needed.Customer Service Excellence:

Ensure that all design centers provide exceptional customer service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders.Address customer concerns or escalations in a timely and effective manner, ensuring a satisfactory resolution.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail operations management, preferably in the building materials or home design industry.Strong knowledge of the single-family builders, flooring, cabinets, and countertops markets.Proven track record in managing multiple locations and driving operational excellence.Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Strong customer service orientation with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
