The role of the Packaging Design team is to create packaging that surprises and delights Amazon's customers.

The manager will ensure the team has deep knowledge of materials, processes, and customer feedback to continuously optimize the packaging.

Provide leadership of the Packaging Design TeamDevelop and refine the company's packaging platformsOversee the creation of detailed packaging specificationsParticipate in cross-functional reviews and meetingsTravel to engage with customers, supply chain, and vendors

About the team The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team works to develop automated solutions and sustainable packaging across Amazon's operations, focusing on end-to-end customer experience and eliminating waste.

Minimum Requirements

BA in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering or similar 4 year packaging or industrial design degree10+ years of paperboard / corrugated design experience4+ years of packaging design team management experienceProven experience in Artios CAD, Adobe, Solidworks and/or other similar design tools

Additional Qualifications

Track record of creative package designExperience in working with packaging laboratoriesDeep understanding of packaging testing, materials, and processes (ISTA/ASTM)Demonstrated understanding of paperboard materials (Kraft, CRB, FBB, Linear, Mediums)Working knowledge of the patent processesKnowledge of sustainability, recycling, and regulationsWorking knowledge of sustainability scorecards, LCA’s and how to rate packaging designsWorking understanding of Extended ProducerExperience managing global teamsActive industry association participation
