Adams Public LibraryThe Board of Directors is seeking an energetic, resourceful, and inspiring Executive Director. The Adams Public Library is a vibrant community hub committed to literacy, education, and the cultural enrichment of its users. The Executive Director will have the opportunity to realize our mission and vision. The position reports to the Board of Directors through the President.Responsibilities
Provides leadership in all aspects of library operationsOversees daily operations of the librarySupervises, hires, and empowers all library staff and volunteersDevelops library budget with the TreasurerImplements and develops the strategic planManages the physical plantStrengthens relationships with partner organizationsEvaluates all aspects of library service, plans for future needs, and adopts and implements new servicesEnsures the library is a safe, welcoming place for all patronsManages technology maintenance and developmentDevelops and implements the solicitation of donations and fundraising initiativesAttends library and professional meetings and serves as the official representative of the library in the communityMinimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited programAt least 3 years of work experience in a professional settingAt least 1 year of supervisory experience in a professional settingA strong, service-oriented attitude, as well as the ability to instill and encourage this attitude among staffExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to identify and analyze complex issues and to develop appropriate actions and recommendationsPreferred Qualifications
