Part-Time Art Therapy Program Specialist

to lead art therapy programs that support our youth & teen community members.

Whether it's through painting, sculpting, or any other art form, you'll help youth and teen participants tap into their emotions, express themselves, and grow.

What you'll do:

Create and lead art therapy programs that encourage joy, healing, and personal growth.

Facilitate individual and group classes in a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment.

Collaborate with other YMCA staff to weave art therapy into our broader health and wellness initiatives.

Track participant progress and adjust sessions to keep things fresh and effective.

Keep families and caregivers in the loop, providing support and updates as needed.

Organize fun exhibitions, workshops, and events to showcase the incredible art created by our participants.

Stay in the know about the latest trends in art therapy, and bring fresh ideas to the table.

Make sure all activities align with YMCA policies and safety standards.

What we're looking for:

Master's degree in Art Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

Certification as an Art Therapist (ATR) or similar certification is a big plus!

At least 2 years of experience in art therapy, ideally in a community, healthcare, or educational setting.

A deep love for art therapy and knowledge of various techniques, materials, and therapeutic processes.

Great communication and facilitation skills, with a knack for connecting with people of all ages.

A passion for the YMCA's mission and a commitment to making a difference in the community.

Passion for working with youth and teens in an educational setting.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to create a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Eagerness to contribute to a diverse and inclusive community.

Afternoon, evening and weekend availability for classes, meetings, professional development and special events.

Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or willingness to get certified within 30 days of hire.

Must be 21 years-old or older.

This position requires the final candidate to successfully pass an E-Verify check.
