The Deployment Readiness (DR) team

If you think you are the right match for the following opportunity, apply after reading the complete description.The Deployment Readiness (DR) team is responsible for creating and documenting the processes, best practices and strategies used to deploy new automation technologies into Amazon’s fulfillment network. The team oversees the execution of Alpha and Beta deployments of new technologies, documenting and optimizing the deployment processes used, and preparing to deploy at scale in the future.

Job Responsibilities

Create and maintain work instructions for all product lines installed in the field, including conducting periodic audits or reviews to ensure that our content is of the highest quality to best serve our customers.

Create and maintain platforms to house training, reference and troubleshooting content for all product lines or deployment specialized activities to support the aggregation of content used project teams.

Support the deployment engineering change management process by partnering with deployment SMEs to perform content revision and change documentation creation and communication, including technical service bulletins and public service announcements.

Contribute to the development of deployment content management & project management strategy and tool suite by gathering and organizing customer input, designing content templates/structures and documentation best practices, contributing to and testing new software tools or features and developing user training content as required.

Evaluate and optimize the effectiveness of deployment technical content using engagement metrics and data, collaborating with data teams to measure, present and validate.

Proactively identify needed process improvements, documentation design improvements, and road blocks to content development and design solutions to address them. Able to act in an advisory capacity to teams creating draft source documentation.

Collaborate with global deployment teams to ensure that content and approach, including version control strategy, is consistent whenever practical, and deviates intentionally when required to suit region-specific needs.

Traveling requirement for this role is up to 50%.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, English, Communications, or another technical communication-related field.

3+ years of experience designing and producing content for a technical audience, such as Tech Deployment Engineers, Field Service Technicians, or Technical Trainers.

Understanding of manufacturing, assembly, or technical process documentation.

Experience using content publishing tools to write, format, manage, and publish technical content on the web.

Knowledge of how to write in wiki / HTML.

Ability to use metrics to improve outcomes and communicate impact to stakeholders.

Aptitude for creating, maintaining, and adhering to style guides and standard processes.

Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software in the context of manipulating parts or assemblies to create visual installation aids.

Familiarity with generative AI/large language model tools which can be used to enhance technical documentation.
