Join us! #LI-HybridBluevine is searching for an experienced communications leader, who will work closely with our executive team to create and amplify narratives that reinforce Bluevine’s mission, legacy, and strategy. You’ll be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for external communications to raise awareness about what we're doing, how we’re differentiated, and the high-value impact we’re delivering to our customers and other key stakeholders.Leveraging strong media relationships, you’ll deliver impactful storytelling across broadcast, print, and online outlets along with awards and speakers bureau programs. You will also have the latitude to chart new territory for multi-channel campaigns across earned, owned, and shared media.While driving day-to-day efforts related to thought leadership, media relations, rapid response, crisis and issues management, you’ll also find creative ways to enhance and protect our positive reputation in the market by generating innovative and impactful customer stories and partnering with our executives to raise the profile of our company and category.Reporting to the VP of Corporate & Product Marketing, you’ll work across business functions to champion the story of Bluevine, our strategy, and our culture globally. You will also work closely with our CEO to proactively manage and advance his media presence – building a list of “media friendlies” that will use him regularly as a resource for commentary and insight on news and trends.Responsibilities:Lead and build upon the existing integrated communications strategy that focuses on corporate reputation, thought leadership, product GTM, and executive visibility to position Bluevine as a leader in fintech and small business banking.Evolve the messaging architecture to bring Bluevine’s narrative to life in a differentiated and unique way.Working closely with brand, social, and community counterparts, develop communications campaigns that help protect and enhance Bluevine’s corporate reputation.Develop executive visibility strategy and drive implementation, including identifying, tracking, securing, and executing against an annual calendar of high-value speaking, awards, and thought leadership opportunities.Actively source compelling story angles from a deep list of customers as well as internal stakeholders.Develop high-quality written materials that convey Bluevine’s corporate narrative including messaging frameworks, press releases, media Q&As, bylines, award entries, and more.Partner with marketing teammates to ensure consistent storytelling and strategic alignment around paid, earned, owned, and shared content and programs.Collaborate with the People Team on key internal communications initiatives.Support issues management activities, helping minimize any impact on Bluevine’s reputation.Develop and maintain relationships with reporters particularly in tech, business, banking and policy.Educate key reporters and government officials on Bluevine’s products, market opportunity, and competitive differentiation.Work closely with and provide counsel to key cross-functional stakeholders, particularly at the executive level.Develop strategies to ensure Bluevine is strategically positioned with analysts, investors, and other relevant stakeholders.Manage our PR agency of record which includes day-to-day management, annual planning, ensuring delivery of strategic initiatives, managing budgets, and measuring quarterly performance.Requirements:10+ years leading public relations or broader communications initiatives. Ideally, you will have experience across fintech, banking, and financial services.In-house experience is preferred, but we are open to PR agency professionals who can demonstrate how their skills and experience are transferable to a corporate role.Strong project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects with a sense of urgency and focus.Extensive experience in developing effective positioning and differentiated storytelling.Highly strategic with a track record of helping companies navigate corporate issues.Experience with key business, technology, and financial services reporters, editors, and producers.Superior written and oral communication skills – including the ability to simplify complex topics and delicately handle sensitive topics.Infuse communications with the proper executive and brand voice.Collaborating with policy, legal, finance, HR, compliance, and other senior executives to align objectives of departments with that of the communications program.Managing communications within highly regulated industries.Created strategies and led campaigns to support/promote corporate fundraising.Created and/or managed company-branded data reports.You’re a newshound with an absolute passion for storytelling and communications.Team player who seeks team wins vs. individual wins.Reputation among colleagues for doing things “the right way” - from both an ethical and business best practices perspective.Positive, upbeat, and welcome any and all challenges with a can-do attitude.New Hire Base Salary Range:
$158,700-$194,400 This role is also eligible to earn annual performance-based incentive compensation in the form of a cash bonus.At Bluevine, we recognize the importance of fair and competitive compensation. Exact compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including your experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market trends.This is a hybrid role .
