The Associate Director, Media Relations and Content Creation is responsible for the ideation, capture, creation, and distribution of all creative content related to Baseball and other Sports as assigned. This position coordinates with the Media Relations unit, Creative Services unit, other External Communications units, and sports staff to identify creative communication strategies for the assigned programs, guided by the principles of increasing reach, assisting recruiting, and driving revenue.

Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.Daily, this position will work within the Media Relations unit to serve as a brand manager and the primary point-of-contact with local and national media, responsible for brainstorming, producing, and pitching stories of Carolina Athletics in video, graphic, and/or written form. The role involves developing, championing, and defending Carolina branding and positioning across all multimedia platforms, ensuring that content and messaging meet the standards of the Department of Athletics and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.Exceptional customer service is crucial, as this position entails extensive interpersonal dealings with student-athletes, coaches, administrators from within athletics and the University, as well as members of the media and other external audiences. Candidates must demonstrate creativity, strong content-creation skills, and the ability to handle stressful, changing situations. The role requires significant time spent in front of a computer, attending games, and possibly requiring out-of-town travel. Strong IT skills are necessary, along with the ability to navigate stadiums and press boxes. Meeting deadlines is essential.
