Position Title: Director of Sacred Music and Liturgy

Section Leaders, Cantors, Liturgy volunteers

Schedule:

Full-time, 40+ hours/week with benefits

Salary:

$59,000 base

Work closely with the Pastor, staff, and parish leaders and volunteers to support the mission and ministries of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Participate in staff activities including staff meetings, shared ministry celebrations, staff retreats, etc.

Participate in diocesan-sponsored training programs.

Direct the parish Sacred Music program.

Serve as the accompanist and/or cantor at weekend Masses.

Provide direction, scheduling, and preparation of cantors, section leaders, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, Sacristans, instrumentalists, ensembles, and choir(s) for all liturgies – work with other staff to coordinate schedules.

Select and prepare rituals and music for all liturgies relative to the current liturgical cycle, parish sacramental celebrations, and special liturgical events.

Work with Pastor and Director of Parish Ministries on wedding and funeral participation aids.

Prepare ongoing music and ritual education for the faith community through bulletin articles and workshops.

Coordinate the maintenance of all music and sound equipment as needed.

Collaborate on sacred music and liturgy departmental budget and work with Pastor and Parish Administrator to monitor monthly spend against parish income.

Work with the Pastor and Parish Administrator to create a Sacred Music fundraising strategy and coordinate fundraising events.

Plan and coordinate liturgies with the assistance of the Pastor, Associate(s), and other relevant ministers/staff.

Help prepare rituals for RCIA and Religious Education/Faith Formation in collaboration with appropriate staff and volunteers.

Prepare and coordinate training for all liturgical ministries.

Schedule all liturgical ministers.

Select and develop participation aids for the congregation, assure copyright permission, etc.

Coordinate Church environment for various Liturgical Seasons.
