The Director Industry Marketing - Consumer leads a team of marketers that are responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy and planning for UL Solutions consumer industry verticals that have defined revenue and growth objectives. This role drives the growth for all Consumer Testing, Inspection, and Certification products and solutions. The successful Director is expertly familiar with industry issues, vernacular, regulations and unique buying behavior to provide insights and intelligence as input to innovation and go-to-market strategies. The Director is a master author and owner of the consumer marketing plan, soliciting key contributions from and effectively orchestrating interlocks with other functions of the Marketing organization. Leverage deep industry knowledge to direct a team that is responsible for defining the market opportunity for Consumer Testing, Inspection, and Certification. Categorizes which solution(s) should be promoted (product/service, bundle, etc.) and the corresponding competitive positioning, messaging, routes to market, target buyers, buying cycle and more. Monitors and adjusts strategy in response to industry trends (regulations, macroeconomic conditions, trends, business challenges) and acts as a subject matter expert. Expertly directs an organization's efforts to complete competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and impending risks. Interlocks with strategic communication, marketing operations, regional marketing to architect and direct buyer-centric campaigns/programs that build awareness and demand for industry solutions. Writes or curates content in industry vernacular (playbooks, case studies, blog posts, sales training materials) for industry inbound and outbound marketing activities. Directs efforts to monitor and report on industry marketing successes and return on investment (ROI) against defined goals/metrics. Adjust strategy to ensure ongoing success. Expertly understands the demand type and primary influencer audiences within an industry and maps out the customer buying process; isolates nuances and patterns. Contributes to, or directs creation and ongoing maintenance of, industry-specific buyer personas and identifies target accounts within the industry.
