General Summary

Are you an exceptional writer and editor, passionate about the craft of persuasive business writing, and skilled at translating complex concepts into well-structured narratives?

The Sr. Proposal Writer is an integral part of account acquisition teams and is responsible for the execution of proposal development for Global Markets Americas. The Proposal Writer will partner with CCL's Sales Leads to produce RFPs (Request for Proposal), formal and informal proposals, presentations, and other client-facing documents. This individual will have strong skills in crafting original language, bringing the value wedge to the surface throughout proposals, writing technical content, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision. Demonstrates the ability to be a team player and builds strong partnerships and working relationships within and outside Global Markets Americas. The position is US based.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for execution of proposal development, ensuring timely production of high-quality proposals that differentiate CCL and create a competitive advantage.

Works effectively with other members of the CCL Proposals team

Partners with assigned proposal teams regarding design, content, and selected mediums in support of specific proposals and presentations.

Partners with Sales team in obtaining client references and keeping this information up to date to use for proposals.

Manage content used in proposals as well as the record of submitted RFPs.

Forms key connections with Knowledge Management and Client Solution Delivery to function as a hub for 100% of projects, ensuring feedback loops between groups.

Ensure all text and graphics meet minimum quality standards including adherence to third party IP (Intellectual Property) regulations, copyright standards, and use of CCL products.

Monitors and tracks project milestones and deliverables.

Assist in the identification and implementation of business process improvements related to proposal development.

Understands and leverages strategies that increase conversion.

Manages and influences the proposal process without direct authority.

Edits proposals, ensuring the content has a strategy and positioning connected to the value wedge identified for the specific opportunity.

Partners with other members of the Proposal team as well as other internal functions in preparation for proposal defense.

Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College/University

Master's Degree strongly preferred

Specific Functional Work Experience Required

5+ years of experience writing RFPs, formal proposals, sales materials, whitepapers and/or marketing content for a business audience.

Agility in PowerPoint and Graphic Design, with attention to detail supporting established Brand Standards.

Proven success with bid/proposal writing in high pressure, short timeline situations. Experience compiling complex proposals and responding to multiple RFPs, simultaneously.

Experience in the Leadership Development, Executive Coaching, Talent Development, or Organizational Development space is a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities necessary to be effective in the job

Excellent written and oral communications skills with a passion for writing

Capable of crafting original language through verbal interviews, team working sessions, video recordings, marketing materials, sales decks, and other modalities

Embodies executive presence and outstanding interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate and influence all levels of the organization both internally and externally through final proposal/product.

Ability to manage strong and diverse personalities is a must.

Ability to learn quickly, conduct research, assimilate information, and turn thoughts into written word

Detail-oriented with high standards for the quality of your work and others' work

Strong MS Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams and other online collaboration tools

Experience leveraging Highspot or similar Sales Asset platform to manage content is a plus

Ability to work independently without direct supervision, as well as within a team

Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills

Flexibility to adjust and change work direction in response to a rapidly changing work environment

Ability to multitask and prioritize competing requests and requirements; set priorities under deadline pressures

Pay and Benefits

The hiring range for this role is $65,000 to $80,000. Offer will be commensurate with relevant qualifications and professional experience.

This is a US-based position, offering a flexible hybrid work schedule, requiring candidates to reside within commuting distance of our Greensboro, North Carolina, Colorado Springs, CO or San Diego, CA campuses.

Hybrid work involves a mix of onsite and remote work, with at least 2 out of 5 workdays spent onsite.
