Marketing Specialist II

Under general supervision of the CNPRC Outreach Manager, assist with the coordination and implementation of internal and external communications, marcom and outreach activities that support the mission, interests, values, and research activities of the California National Primate Research Center to local, regional, state and national stakeholders in biomedical research and animal science.Research, prepare and/or edit organizational publications/presentations for internal and external audiences. Provide writing and editing assistance as needed. Assist with the production of online summaries of Center research and expertise. Assist in the development and coordination of marketing materials, social media content, external/internal websites, and photography. Provide support for internal communication initiatives, campus outreach, Center events and tours. Manages project timelines and secures content from Center staff and research units.Apply By Date09/24/2024QualificationsMinimum QualificationsFor full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license, certification and/or educational degree if required of the position.Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, related degree or equivalent. combination of education, training, and experience.2 years' experience in public Information dissemination, communications and or marketing practices.Experience writing and editing marketing communication materials.Experience in public speaking to groups, conducting educational tours.Experience with using forms of media beyond text to tell compelling stories. This position is subject to Medical Surveillance procedures and review in accordance with Federal and State Laws and Regulations and University Policy.Perform assigned duties in BioSafety Level 2+ facilities where non-human primates may be either naturally or experimentally infected with potentially hazardous infectious agents such as SIV, CMV, Zika virus, or Herpes B virus.Work with human and nonhuman primate specimens and chemical agents. Position may require employee to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases are present.
