The Senior Product Designer will be a key partner of the Creative Director to advance creative concepts into finalized designs that are ready for prototyping, specification and the product development process. The Senior Product Designer will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of luxury bed linen, bath linen, table linen, sleepwear and accessory products. Success in the role will involve a combination of creativity, technical knowledge, and market awareness to create products that maintain their original creative intent while meeting the needs and preferences of consumers. All product leaders at Matouk thrive on their love of home furnishings and finely crafted products. The right candidate will have a proven track record in product design and will be able to successfully create product designs regardless of whether or not the candidate has worked previously in those categories. The candidate must be ready to work with a world-class, committed team of artisans and business experts who bring out the best in each other and are committed to innovative thinking and customer success.

Design Development and Concepting:

Collaborate with the Creative Team on design concepts for all Matouk product categories.

Cross-functional collaboration with product development and manufacturing to achieve product design and development goals.

Talk to internal teams (sales/merchandising/HoM/sales reps/etc) to gain insight into customer preferences leading to new product designs.

Stay informed about market trends, competitor products, and customer preferences to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Sketching and Prototyping:

Create detailed sketches and drawings to communicate design ideas effectively.

Advance concepts through to create fully rendered product designs.

Work closely with sample makers to ensure accurate translation of design concepts into physical products.

Develop color schemes, embroidery designs, surface patterns and other design objectives as determined by the Creative Director

Work with Design Partners to adapt existing artwork for the Matouk product line.

Approve technical specifications and production guidelines for manufacturers, ensuring designs can be translated into completed prototypes.

Material and Fabric Selection:

Develop expertise in the full range of Matouk fabrics and additional fabrics to be incorporated into the product line.

Collaborate to select appropriate materials and fabrics based on product position and design aesthetics.

Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in materials to enhance product quality and performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Textile Design, or a related field. Advanced Degree preferred, 5+ years experience.

Proven experience as a product designer, preferably in the home textile industry.

Expertise in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.

Strong understanding of textiles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
