Taxable Entity ALCYON TECHNICAL SERVICES JV Job Title Mechanic Location OH Cleveland TIALS L293 SARF - Cleveland, OH 44135 US (Primary) Category Installation Maintenance and Repair Job Type Full-time Typical Pay/Range $31.77 Hourly Education High School Diploma or GED Travel Security Clearance Required: None POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): Provides direct support to the vehicle maintenance functions within the Logistics Transportation Area in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW) for WBS 1.4.8 through 1.4.10. This individual will complete the inspection and repairs of NASA Glenn Research Center vehicles and other property according to the Department of Transportation regulations. Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): The Mechanic supports the Technical Information, Administrative, and Logistics Services (TIALS) Contract, at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH. Support vehicle maintenance functions within the Logistics Transportation Area in accordance with the Statement of Work for WBS 1.4.8 through 1.4.10. Complete inspection and repairs of GRC vehicles and other property according to Department of Transportation Regulations. Comply with all ATS Policies and Procedures, including all Logistics Work Instructions and Job Hazard Analysis Comply with the requirements of the TIALS 2 Safety Plan. Comply with the requirements of the TIALS 2 Quality Plan. Comply with the requirements of the TIALS 2 Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) Avoidance Plan. Comply with the requirements of the NASA GRC Safety Manual. Comply with the requirements of the NASA GRC Environmental Management System. Participate in the Logistics Safety Review Board, as required. Support management in creating a safe work environment by aggressively participating in safety meetings and safety walk through inspections. Communicate all work activities and issues to the area supervisor. Obtain appropriate certifications for Commercial Driver's License (CDL), forklift, and crane operations. Obtain lift and CDL physical examinations, as required. Utilize mechanical experience to creatively inspect, repair, or adjust a diverse fleet of equipment ranging from bicycles to liquid vaporizers. Utilize the Vehicle Tracker System (VTS). Ensure all appropriate tools and supplies are on hand to immediately conduct preventative maintenance (PM) and repair activities. Ensure all vehicles and associated equipment undergo PM according to VTS schedule. According to customer schedule, repair vehicles brought in for service outside of the regular PM cycle. Report to supervisor any equipment that is beyond economical repair. Utilize PM and repair forms, ensure all documents are thoroughly completed. Continuously assess operations to enhance inspection processes. Execute safety inspections and repairs according to the checklist and requirements of the Department of Transportation and equipment manufacturer specifications. Ensure GSA leased vehicles are services according to manufacturer warranty requirements. Provide emergency road service, as required. Operate the automatic wash rack, as required. Inspect and test vehicle and equipment to diagnose issues or malfunctions. Troubleshoot equipment by running electrical and electronic testing devices. Routinely check all fluid level and replenish fluids, as needed. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Notify management when major repairs are needed. Refuse to release any equipment unless assurance that absolute safety has been achieved during the PM or repair process. Ensure shop area
