Food Safety Technical Writer Analyst

Responsibilities

This role will require the incumbent to be a strong technical writer, who will lead the development of harmonized procedures (SOPs, SSOPs) and work instructions, along with training and capability material to drive continuous improvement in the sector-wide food safety programs and compliance to the evolving regulatory environment for company owned PepsiCo Foods North America (Frito-Lay and Quaker) facilities.

The selected candidate must have the ability to seek creative and innovative means to educate and building capability in support of program enhancement, and ensure effective deployment and change management for the fields teams.

Candidates must demonstrate effective leadership and collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders including Frito-Lay and Quaker Supply Chain Manufacturing Teams, R&D Food Safety and Quality Assurance Team and Leadership Team members.

This position will report to a Food Safety Sr. Manager.

Business Accountabilities:

* Spearheading the development of SSOPs and Work Instructions for each equipment and area of the facility necessitating documentation to deploy sanitation as preventive control.* Cultivate, curate and facilitate new and enhanced learning and capability tools and training material to promote flawless execution of the food safety program changes that will be deployed across PFNA.* Collaboration with key stakeholders in R&D and drive successful adoption and sustained used of new SSOPs and Work Instructions, and training agenda across the sector.* Continuous improve and enhance the training and capability material to assure compliance to enhancements of procedures, programs, requirements and the evolving regulatory environment.* Brand food safety maintenance support* Develop and coach field teams as needed.

People Accountabilities:

* Strong work relationships with Food Safety Managers and teams. This role will not have direct reports.* Create and support an inclusive culture and work environment

Travel%: 20-30% domestic travel

Compensation and Benefits:

* The expected compensation range for this position is between $66,300 - $111,000 based on a full-time schedule.* Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.* Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 5% of annual salary paid out annually.* Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.* In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.

Qualifications

* BS/BA required (Food Science, chemical engineering or chemistry preferred)* Technical knowledge of PepsiCo global food safety programs and the ability to convert to actionable information* Knowledge and experience in sanitation programs and/or food safety management systems* Strong written and oral communication skills, including facilitation skills* Demonstrated self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects* Creativity and experience in building training content will be an asset.* Knowledge of FDA, USDA FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, and GMP regulations* Exhibit business maturity in handling proprietary and sensitive information* Strong knowledge of PC operating systems and learn new software tools* Ability to work effectively and manage risk in a fast-paced environment* Excellent leadership and influence skills* Ability to implement decisions, initiate actions, or seek support to resolve issues within a reasonable time to drive business performance
