2024-5416OverviewPosition Summary:

The Associate Vice President of Learning Design and Production leads the strategy for the creation, design, and production of world-class curriculum and instruction that leads to quality experiences and outcomes for students. This person will have experience developing learning design frameworks for scale while continuously improving the quality of the learning experience and ensuring regulatory compliance.Responsibilities:Leads and directs the creation, design, development, and production of traditional, blended, and online curriculum.Collaborates with academic stakeholders on the planning of content strategy, technology integration, program development, and integrated learning experiences.Collaborates with faculty on the design of highly engaging instructional elements that lead to high rates of student success measured by student satisfaction, retention, graduation, licensure pass rates, and employment rates.Coordinates with the Training and Development team on faculty development initiatives that align in-class teaching methodology with curriculum strategy.Creates the instructional methodology, development protocol, and quality standards for intentional interweaving of best practices and current research into course and program design.Develops project management workflows that establish timelines, stakeholder communication plans, and milestones that ensure new program and course revision curriculum projects meet all implementation deadlines and stakeholders are well informed.Develops a system for organizing, archiving, and versioning of instructional assets.Oversees the curation of technology utilized in the classrooms ensuring a quality experience for students and faculty, a direct alignment to the goals of the curriculum, full utilization, and systems security.Keeps current on emerging technologies that could harm or help the development and delivery of quality educational experiences.Utilizes an evidence-based approach to continual improvement.Qualifications:Education & Experience:Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Education Technology, or Related Field.Minimum of 5-10 years leading higher education instructional design and production teams at scale.10+ years progressive experience in education including instructional design.Knowledge, Skills & Traits:Demonstrated effective supervisory, interpersonal, and leadership skills.Organizational skills in directing and prioritizing multiple and complex development projects.Works effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus.Ability to communicate effectively, define problems, and design solutions.Must demonstrate strong knowledge of learning theory, principles of instructional design, and quality frameworks.Must be able to differentiate and apply best practices in instructional design related to traditional, blended, and online modalities.Must have depth of experience with learning management systems and closely track implications and opportunities related to emerging technologies.Must be well versed in universal design and accessibility that aligns with the most current updates to Section 508.Must possess techniques for integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into instructional design.Abilities:Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn, and reason for all the workday.Must be able to sit for prolonged periods throughout the workday.Must be able to use a keyboard and perform manual tasks for prolonged periods throughout the workday.May require occasional travel and/or work after-hours or weekends as necessary to perform tasks.May require up to 10% of overnight travel.Work Environment:
