Ready to make your application Please do read through the description at least once before clicking on Apply.National Award-Winning Engineering Firm is seeking a highly motivated Bridge Design Manager who is responsible for the growth and success of the bridge practice within the firm to lead and support business development, bridge talent acquisition and development, project delivery, and client relationships. This position can be located in Illinois or Minnesota.ResponsibilitiesResearch respective markets, develop client relationships, recruit talent, and identify business opportunities across Illinois and/or MinnesotaExpert in the industry with strong client connections in Illinois and/or MinnesotaProvide leadership and guidance in areas of technical specialties and provides oversight on overall bridge practice operationsKnowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design SpecificationsHave a solid understanding of MnDOT or IDOT's consulting expectations and needsAct as Project Principal or Lead Engineer on bridge design, rehab, and inspection projects, managing scope, schedule, staffing, budget, etc.Make key contributions on project pursuits, facilitating the growth of the bridge practiceCoordinate tasks among the multidisciplinary project teams to conduct analyses, develop design solutions, and lead the preparation of design drawings, calculations, and specifications for fixed and movable bridge engineering projectsPerform quality control reviews of bridge design deliverablesOrganize and manage design efforts for multiple simultaneous projectsEnsure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of othersWork efficiently to meet deadlines and complete projects within a given amount of timeDemonstrate a strong ability to meet project budgets and schedulesRequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural)Masters in Engineering a plusIL or MN Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer License required (SE)15+ years of bridge experienceLeadership in team building and project deliveryResearch bridge markets, develop client relationships, and identify business opportunitiesAbility to track budgets, maintain project/group performance goalsMentor staff and develop a goal-oriented team capable of delivering complex projectsExceptional technical skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong interpersonal skills
