Not sure what skills you will need for this opportunity Simply read the full description below to get a complete picture of candidate requirements.The Civil Works CIM/CAD Designer Lead will be primarily responsible for leading production on projects from beginning to completion, with experience and understanding of disciplines in Civil Works and a base understanding of Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical fields. An ideal candidate will have experience in both Autodesk and Bentley products such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer. On-the-job training will be available for those who have mastery of some but not all software. A successful Civil Works CIM/CAD Lead will have a penchant for learning, a detailed eye for quality work, be technically inclined, and a problem solver.The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of CAD experience and 3+ years of experience utilizing CIM software (Civil 3D or OpenRoads) with a desire to learn new software and be part of a team that is ever-increasing in efficiency in our workflow. While preference may be given to candidates who can be present in a local office (Seattle, Irvine, Atlanta) on a hybrid schedule, this role is available for remote work within the United States.Your Role:Proactively engage with Project Managers and design Engineers to ensure timely project completion within allocated budgets, which may include occasional overtime work.Assist civil engineering staff in the development of complex preliminary and final designs of civil works features.Analyze complex sketches, notes, and other input to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings and models.Develop 3D Terrain & various Discipline models of project features using CADD software.Coordinate with the Tetra Tech CAD Manager to implement project-specific CAD standards.Set up project drawings to conform to client standards.Implement additional material data through Parts and Families or Instance Data Catalogs to produce Product Schedules and Quantity Reports.Communicate effectively with Engineers and other CAD team members.Utilize CAD best practices and QA/QC procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency of their work.Qualifications:Associates degree in related field (experience can be substituted for degree).5 years of relevant experience and working knowledge of civil works engineering principles, practices, and methods.3 years of strong design experience and competence with CIM software (i.e. Civil 3D, with a willingness to learn OpenRoads).2 years of leadership and CAD production management experience, directing the work of less experienced CAD staff to meet quality and schedule requirements.Proven knowledge of plan set development and ability to conform to various jurisdictional standards is required.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, committed to project schedules and deadlines, able to work within a team environment and independently, and self-motivated.Solid work ethic with attention to detail, a care for the handling of projects, and a desire to improve and grow their knowledge.Experience with use of CAD and CIM software to develop 2D conventional drawings from 3D models.Knowledge of BIM software is a plus.Experience using U.S. Army Corps of Engineers CAD Standards is a plus.Experience with ProjectWise and ACC is a plus.Experience with Microsoft 365 products such as Word and Excel is required.Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu is a plus.Experience with handling technical challenges inside and outside of CAD Software, develop or track down solid solutions not just a workaround, and has the tenacity to see issues through to a solution.What we can offer you:Work on projects that are local, national, or sometimes international.Huge opportunity for growth in multiple disciplines and software.Work in a small, entrepreneurial-minded office that’s backed by the resources of a large, international company.When appropriate, the opportunity to think outside the box to develop innovative solutions to client problems, and the support to implement your ideas.A passionate team of co-workers who work hard and respect the importance of work-life balance.Work in office, with a potential for a home-office hybrid, or remote schedule.Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion-focused company.Strong commitment to Health and Safety.The hourly wage range for this position is approximately $38 to $52 depending on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.Tetra Tech offers comprehensive benefit options that allow employees to design a plan based on individual needs and assists in planning for long-term financial security.About Tetra Tech:Tetra Tech combines the resources of a global, multibillion-dollar company with local, client-focused delivery in more than 470 locations around the world.
