Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunityThe Specialist will serve as a liaison between the Rutgers English Language Institute (RELI) and the Rutgers Learning Centers (LCs), providing individual writing assistance, both in-person and online, to undergraduate and graduate students across all academic disciplines and subjects, excluding those offered through the Writing Program. This position will be filled by a full-time or part-time RELI staff member who serves in a co-adjunct position with the LCs to offer writing support for multilingual students.Responsibilities:Provide individual writing assistance to students at all levels of writing competency.Assist with all aspects of the writing process, including outlining, punctuation, grammar, thesis statements, paragraph development, and analysis.Offer writing coaching for a variety of writing assignments such as papers, laboratory reports, research papers, theses, dissertations, personal statements, and scholarship applications.Create materials and resources, such as videos and blogs, addressing the writing concerns of students and faculty.Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in English, the humanities, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of English grammar and usage in assisting multilingual learners with their writing. The Specialist must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work with students from linguistically diverse backgrounds, patience, and a commitment to student achievement and success.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of English grammar and usage, experience working with multilingual learners, and proficiency in relevant software, including an in-house data management system for scheduling appointments and Qualtrics survey software.Physical Demands and Work Environment:
