Job Description:

This job is responsible for providing external communications support, working closely with enterprise and business leaders. Key responsibilities include developing and executing media relations strategies supporting lines of business, subject matter experts, products and platforms, thought leadership, and awards. Job expectations include developing relationships with financial and mainstream media, handling media inquiries, preparing spokespeople for and facilitating interviews, and maintaining integration across the media team, with leaders and support partners throughout the company.

Located in New York, NY, this individual will be responsible for providing external communications support for Bank of America’s Global Corporate and Investment Bank and Global Markets businesses, as well as play a critical role supporting the company’s quarterly earningsand corporate finance announcements and disclosures.The person in this role will work closely with these lines of business and media relations colleagues to further enhance proactive media engagement and initiatives that drive brand awareness and business growth.

Responsibilities:

Serves as a trusted external communications advisor to enterprise and business leaders and other internal stakeholders

Builds and deepens relationships with members of financial and mainstream media

Develops and executes media relations strategies within a highly proactive team, promoting subject matter experts, products and platforms, thought leadership, new initiatives, and awards

Handles incoming media inquiries and interview requests; prepares spokespeople for and facilitates interviews

Develops and edits content for external use, including press releases, award submissions, briefing materials, and more

Maintains consistent integration and interaction with colleagues across external and internal communications, marketing, public policy, human resources, and legal

Serves as day-to-day contact for agency to provide direction, feedback, and guidance on the execution of various external communications campaigns

Work collaboratively across the Bank’s business units to research and communicate key financial information and regularly interact with media on topics including the bank’s financial statements

Required Qualifications:

5-7 years of relevant media relations experience with a demonstrated history of driving results

Strong writing skills and financial experience

Knowledge of Investment Banking/Global Markets businesses and finance industry generally

Understand financial statements and have the ability to simplify statements to communicate key messages to the media

Risk, crisis and issues management abilities

Integrate work in a fast-paced and highly matrixed environment, establish priorities and achieve results.

Strong relationship management and communication skills, with a sense of urgency and thoughtfulness

Individual who thrives in a high intensity environment with multiple and competing priorities

Unquestionable business and personal integrity and values in line with those of the organization

Minimum Education Requirement:

High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$130,500.00 - $180,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
