A variety of soft skills and experience may be required for the following role Please ensure you check the overview below carefully.About the role :Skydio is looking for a self-motivated manager who is passionate about developing and delivering best-in-class instructional and technical content for a range of audiences including our Commercial, Public Safety and Education, and Global Government customers. We’re interested in finding someone excited to gain a deep understanding of our products and technologies, and even more excited about distilling that knowledge into technical documentation, instructional design, and learning systems that are compelling and easy to understand and help our customers get the most value out of our solutions.Location : This is an office-based position that requires 3 days/week onsite at our HQ in San Mateo, CA.How you’ll make an impact :Manage a team of high-performing content developers, including technical writers, eLearning developers, and video directors.Develop, write, review and edit end-user technical documentation (user guides, quick start guides, and help articles).Use our data analytics (the “voice of the customer”) to help us identify gaps in our knowledge systems.Know Skydio products inside and out, and proactively seek clarity on areas of confusion that are of interest to our customers.Convey complex technical material in a concise and effective manner.Align with marketing and design teams to maintain a common, branded design language.Work closely with internal teams (product management, product marketing, engineering, and training) to deliver high-quality, relevant, educational content that enables our customers to get value out of their Skydio products.What makes you a good fit :3+ years of training content development experience (previous experience in the technology field is preferred but not required).Strong management and leadership skills including the ability to plan, execute and deliver a very high quality product with a high performing team.Experience with content development tools, including but not limited to Google Docs, Adobe CC (primarily InDesign), and Microsoft Word.Strong attention to detail, strong personal organization, collaboration, and time management skills.Experience working cross-functionally across engineering, product management, and marketing teams.Strong research skills including gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources.Ability to effectively communicate in person and remotely with team members.Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging work environment with tight deadlines.Bachelor’s degree in English or similar area of study, certificate in Technical Writing, or equivalent professional experience.Writing samples and/or content portfolio is required.Nice-to-haves :Experience with Notion or similar workspace tools.Experience with UAS and remote operations.Compensation Range:

The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.*For some positions the pay may be dependent upon the individual's regional location.At Skydio we believe that diversity drives innovation.
