What you will doThe Sprinkler Designer will be engaged in the preparation of detailed Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings to ensure the efficient and effective placement of our products and systems.How you will do itRead and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, andcontracts.Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architecturalfeatures.Design and layout sprinkler systems using specialized CAD software packages that are based on the AutoCAD platform; coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components and perform hydrauliccalculations.Perform field check of completed design to verifyaccuracy.Work closely with the district contracting teams to understand the contract with the customer, the scheduling of the design process, and the delivery needs of the installation crew; coordinate deliveries of system materials to the job site to meet the optimum installation start date.Mentor others in the proper execution of sprinkler design using acquired experience, proficiency andknowledge.Ability to assist sales in design estimations.What we look forRequiredHigh School diploma or equivalent5+ years of fire sprinkler design experienceNICET III certification required or must obtain within the first 3-6 months of employment.Working experience of AutoCAD, Hydra CAD, Sprinkler Design Software or equivalent sprinkler design software.PreferredAbility to solve basic math problems including geometry and algebraProficient in AutoCAD, MSOffice, Sprinkler Design Software and a hydraulic calculation programInterpret and apply applicable NFPA standards for Automatic Sprinkler System LayoutJohnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a qualified individual with a disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
