Content Strategist

who will develop targeted content, message strategies, and products for multimedia behavioral change campaigns that are designed to engage diverse, multicultural audiences.RTI International is one of the world's leading research institutes, dedicated to improving the human condition by turning knowledge into practice. RTIs Communication Practice Area works on behalf of domestic, public sector clients to research, design, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based solutions to address real-world challenges across the domains of health, education, justice and climate. We are a team of communication scientists and strategists with deep expertise across the entire communication continuum, who develop messages and products and deliver effective communication campaigns and interventions that help people make everyday decisions. Were looking for a creative and solution-minded content strategist and an inspired storyteller who understands how to craft content strategies and products that engage audiences and influence their attitudes and beliefs. Your work is both audience-centric and client-oriented. You thrive in a deadline-driven environment. You are equally comfortable developing strategy artifacts like user journeys and writing and developing content. Youll have strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit.Responsibilities:Campaign Planning and ImplementationContribute to the planning of multimedia campaigns with the goal of influencing audience knowledge, attitudes, perceptions, and behaviors.Write sections of marketing, dissemination, and communication plans that reflect strategies and approaches identified by campaign leaders.Work closely across multidisciplinary teams that span multiple divisions and groups, including researchers, subject matter experts, creative and editorial staff, user experience (UX) experts, developers, and creative and editorial staff.Content Strategy and Product DevelopmentContribute to the development of message strategies based on communication goals, audience research, and established theoretical or conceptual frameworks.Write and produce messages and content for multiple formats and channels, including social media, digital advertising, short-form video, web copy, fact sheets, and brochures by translating scientific and technical concepts into clear, actionable information for audiences.Adapt campaign messages and products across different social, digital, and partner channels by reviewing channel parameters/guidelines and implementing custom elements.Optimize campaign messaging and products based on digital and media analytics.Develop products and content from start to finish across channels and format types, including ideation, concepting, storyboarding, producing and iterating content, overseeing review processes, and final production and delivery.Support the development of interactive digital products, such as websites and digital tools that are grounded in evidence, driven by data, user-centered, and aligned with campaign strategies.Implement and provide strategic guidance on content based on best practices in plain language, health literacy, and writing for the web.Edit, review, and proofread work for adherence to style guides, brand guidelines, voice/tone, and other specifications.Audience and Market ResearchGather and distill audience research, competitive analysis, market trends, prior content performance data, and best practices to guide campaign strategy and message development.Contribute to developing personas that describe key characteristics of different audience segments.Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and 3+ years of experience in content development, strategy, and communication (or a related field); or a masters degree and 1+ years of relevant experience.Excellent writing, copywriting, and editing skills (including for digital platforms).Experience in producing content for multiple formats and channels, including social media, digital advertising, short-form video, web copy, fact sheets, and brochures.Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.Samples of writing or productssuch as websites, blogs, multimedia assets, or other contentare

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States. RTI considers multiple factors when making an offer including, for example: established salary range, internal budget, business needs, and education and years of work experience possessed by the applicant. Further, salary is merely one element to our offer.
