Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.A Sr Technical Designer develops, maintains, submits for release engineering drawings, systems designs and/or engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry, and governmental standards. Applies design/development tools to prepare documentation and incorporate design changes and maintains systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and assisting in identifying design discrepancies. The Sr Technical Designer supports engineering system design and functional validation activities.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Perform design and maintenance of fluid components & system definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies. Coordinate fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified systems at any Blue Origin site.Build models and drawings of designs.Provide guidance on schedule and technical requirements to internal customers.Apply company and industry (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, lay-out, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets).Minimum Qualifications:

Extensive experience with ProEngineer /Creo with WindchillKnowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3Experience creating fabrication and installation drawings using ProE/CreoExperience in design and analysis of piping/tubing systems, experience using analysis tools specific to piping (CAEPipe, Bentley AutoPipe, CEASAR etc.)Knowledge of standard components, installation, and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, structural members, fitting, welding etc.)Knowledge of fluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps etc.)Experience with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41Familiar with existing applicable and industry drafting standardsExperience leading large CAD assemblies and associated drawingsMust be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Experience:

7 years or greater proven experienceExperience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD P&IDKnowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance preferredKnowledge of precision cleaning processes / levels and passivation of stainless steelExperience with a PDM version control databaseCompensation range for on-site WA applicants is $115,935-$162,309.Other site ranges may differ.Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.Inclusivity Statement
