We have a sophisticated audience that includes industry leaders at hospitals, insurers, physician groups, tech firms, and other vendors and policymakers. Smart journalism is Modern Healthcare's hallmark and what sets us apart from our competition, and we're looking for the right reporter to join us.Modern Healthcare is based in Chicago but will consider remote work from a state listed on our career site. Must work Central Time Zone if remote.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related fieldA minimum of three years of reporting experienceMinimum of three recent clipsAbility to meet deadlines and file clean, concise, and comprehensive copy on complex issues with a high degree of accuracy, balance, and readabilityMust be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentMust have attention to detail, industry knowledge, and the ability to interpret dataAbility to digest large amounts of information, "see the story," and execute with urgency as neededAbility to work remotely while keeping your editors and colleagues informed of your assignments and developmentsJob candidates most likely to excel in this position will be self-starters motivated by excellence, competitive and curious, and enjoy being part of a teamPreferences
Experience covering healthcare and/or businessExperience covering medical devices and/or technology used in healthcareThis position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.Pay Transparency Disclosure: The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. The final salary offering will take into account a wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments, and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap.
