The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications and experiences. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.Role Description Reporting to the Managing Director & Deputy General Manager in the Global Markets Marketing Department (NY), SMBC is aiming to strengthen the FX and Rates business here in the Americas with Japanese corporate clients. We are seeking a strong candidate with experience engaging with them, particularly in the FX business. Experience in the Rates business is preferred.Role Objectives: Delivery The FX Marketer is a client relationship management position, primarily focused on business development for Japanese Corporates in the US, Canada, and Mexico.Complies with FRB, State and Federal regulations.Marketing for SMBC's existing and potential corporate clients by cooperating with Bank Relationship Managers.Develops strong relationships with customers and Relationship Managers.Helps drive initiatives to build the FX and Rates business.Provides daily market commentary and creates dialogue with prospective customers.Motivates junior Marketers and Bank Relationship Managers.Understands clients' needs and builds more efficient systems/rules by collaborating with other Departments.Challenges legacy ideas and provides efficient solutions to clients.Qualifications and Skills

Expert in FX and Rates derivative products.Expert knowledge of U.S. regulatory requirements.Strong knowledge of market liquidity, currency regulations, and risk management.Proven success in the development and implementation of FX products.Strong relationship builder; influencing skills.Knowledge of eFX process including execution method.Knowledge of ISDA process.Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.7 years of comparable relevant experience.FX spot, forward, options marketing.Business fluency in English and Japanese.Additional Requirements Responsible for fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, holding leaders accountable for creating an inclusive environment through awareness and practice of equity in recruiting, developing, and promoting diverse talent.SMBC's employees participate in a hybrid workforce model that provides employees with an opportunity to work from home and from an SMBC office.
