American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) Products is the leading payment card issuer for corporations and small businesses, offering products, services, and capabilities to help them run and grow their business. Within GCS, the Commercial Product Design team is seeking an Associate Product Designer to play a critical role crafting the future of these digital experiences for our customers.

How will you make an impact on this role?

You will combine expertise in your craft with a data-informed knowledge of customers to create impactful experiences that deliver on our business goals. Collaboration is critical to our success, so we value those who build relationships, and have the curiosity to ask important questions, speak up and debate ideas. We also need strategic thinkers to connect the dots across experiences and leverage knowledge of market and industry trends to inform their decision making.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures visually appealing and usable user interfaces by delivering artifacts such as wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity specifications

Develops understanding and empathy for users through user-centered methodologies, external analysis, research, and data

Presents design decisions to peers and partners with support from senior colleagues

Learns to utilize American Express design process, design systems and UX patterns

Collaborates closely with product managers, engineers and design leads to understand and deliver against project requirements

Participates in design community

Leverages design tools to deliver artifacts

Minimum Qualifications

Has at least 1 year of professional product design experience, preferably including work on a B2B solutions or commercial payments platforms

Demonstrates an understanding of user-centered design methodologies, research, and processes

Shares solutions to problem-solving initiatives in an engaging way

Proactive and energetic communicator, with an attention to detail

Proficient in Figma or similar design software (i.e. Sketch)

Familiar with Microsoft suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using collaboration tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, Airtable, Mural, and FigJam

Qualifications

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
