These opportunities can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.Seeking a highly motivated individual who is pursuing an education in the life sciences, medicine, or pharmacology/pharmacy, and who is interested in writing and communicating about medicine and science. The goal of this position is for the individual to gain broad insight into the following:The roles of several types of medical writers at a large pharmaceutical companyThe drug development processDocuments needed to conduct clinical trials and gain approval for new medicinesInformed consentDisclosure of clinical trial information to the publicHealth literacy and plain language conceptsThe Medical Writing & Disclosure department is responsible for creating documents that define and report the results of clinical trials in participants receiving investigational products to global regulatory agencies. These documents include clinical study protocols, informed consents, clinical study reports, investigator brochures, and overall summaries of clinical programs. The department is also responsible for disclosing technical and plain language summaries of clinical trial protocols and results to the public. The Summer Intern will work on several projects and engage in experiences that will give them individual and team experience with how clinical trials are designed, analyzed, reported, and disclosed to the public. They will work under the guidance of a mentor and have observational and hands-on responsibilities.Required Education and Skills:Completed at least 3 years of a Bachelor's or equivalent program in a scientific discipline (e.g., life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine) and be currently enrolled in a degree programAvailable to work full-time for 12 consecutive weeks beginning in June of 2025Strong Microsoft Office skillsStrong scientific communication skills, including the ability to write scientific documents (e.g., lab reports, publications, dissertations, theses, abstracts) and deliver scientific presentationsPreferred Experience and Skills:Motivation to explore a career in medical writingExperience using artificial intelligence tools, especially those that use large language modelsDemonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving capabilitiesExperience collaborating with others on project teamsTime management skills (e.g. manage multiple projects/assignments & deliver each on time and with high quality, overcome obstacles that impact project delivery)Expected salary range: $39,600.00 - $105,500.00Employee Status:
